HOME COOKING

The stay-home order began Thursday, March 19, 2020 and is in place until further notice. Which means we’ve been cooking and will continue to cook most of our meals. Eating at home can be a great way to maintain a healthy diet but being on a renal diet can be challenging, to say the least. Its important to note, dietary restrictions vary depending on the stage of kidney disease. A renal diet usually includes limiting sodium, potassium and phosphorus. Here is a list of suggested foods to avoid - of course its wise to check with your doctor and dietitian before introducing a diet.

2.   Avocados

3.   Canned Foods

4.   Whole Wheat Bread

5.   Brown Rice

6.   Bananas

7.    Diary

8.   Oranges & Orange Juice

9.   Processed Meats

10.  Pickles, Olives & Relish

11.  Apricots
