About ReMend
Real support from people who have lived it.
Support changes everything. Especially when it comes from someone who truly understands.
ReMend is a nonprofit peer mentoring community for people living with kidney disease, navigating dialysis, preparing for transplant, or adjusting to life after transplant.
Our mentors have lived it themselves. They know what it means to face uncertainty, ask hard questions, adjust to treatment, and keep moving forward.
Through shared experience, encouragement, and practical support, ReMend helps people feel more informed, more empowered, and less alone.
Why ReMend Matters
Kidney disease affects millions of people in the United States, and many do not realize they have it until it has progressed. More than 1 in 7 U.S. adults are estimated to have chronic kidney disease, and as many as 9 in 10 adults with CKD do not know they have it. Early awareness, education, and support can make a meaningful difference.
A kidney diagnosis can feel overwhelming. ReMend exists to help people feel less alone, more informed, and better equipped to move forward.
What We Do
ReMend provides no-cost peer-to-peer support and education for people who are:
living with chronic kidney disease
starting or continuing dialysis

adjusting to life after transplant
supporting a loved one on their kidney journey
Through one-on-one mentoring, community support, shared stories, and educational resources, we help people find connection, ask better questions, and feel more confident advocating for themselves.
Our Mission
To empower people affected by kidney disease through peer support, education, encouragement, and shared experience.
Our Vision
A stronger kidney community where no one faces kidney disease alone.
