988 LIFELINE

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (formerly known as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline) provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across the United States. The Lifeline is comprised of a national network of over 200 local crisis centers, combining custom local care and resources with national standards and best practices.

Aging & Independence Services is part of the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency. Our agency is the region’s federally-designated Area Agency on Aging, and we also provide many state and local programs. We offer assistance, information, and referrals to older adults, those with disabilities, and their family members. ESRD Kidney Community Emergency Response Program

This program provides additional support to individuals with kidney disease during emergencies, which can be particularly stressful and exacerbate mental health issues.

ESRD NETWORK 18

HSAG provides quality improvement, data management, grievance investigation, technical assistance, and patient and professional education services for nearly 1,400 dialysis providers and over 90,000 dialysis patients across our Network service areas. Our goal is to efficiently and effectively increase the quality of care and quality of life for patients with kidney disease. Network 18 is one of 18 Networks under contract with CMS to work collaboratively with dialysis professionals, providers, and patients to improve patient care.

KIDNEY TRANSPLANT THURSDAYS

Our mission is to educate the public about living kidney donation. On the 2nd Thursday of every month, Kidney Transplant Thursdays encourages those in the kidney transplant community, organizations, and individuals to use their social media outlets and traditional public relations to educate the public about living kidney donation. KIDNEY WORKS

The national non-profits American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) and Medical Education Institute (MEI) partnered to develop KidneyWorks™. This patient advocacy program is designed to identify working-age people with Stage 3-5 CKD—those whose kidney function is less than 60%—and to promote job retention as a key means for these individuals to continue to pursue their life aspirations with health insurance, income and an enhanced quality of life.


LIVING KIDNEY DONORS NETWORK

LKDN is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 org. We offer workshops and get-togethers to help you become successful at finding your living donor.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is the federal agency that runs the Medicare Program. CMS is a branch of the Department Of Health And Human Services (Hhs). CMS also monitors Medicaid programs offered by each state. In 2017, Medicare covered over 58 million people. Total expenditures in 2017 were $705.9 billion.
