Meet Holland.

“I am committed to providing guidance, empathy, and a kind listening ear...”

Hi, I am Holland! I was diagnosed with Lupus at 15 years old and End Stage Renal Disease at 31. I had a very difficult time coming to terms with my kidney diagnosis and chose to focus on medication and following a strict renal diet over dialysis and possible transplantation. Less than a year later I was back in the hospital, and it was at this time I decided I was ready to start dialysis and learn more about the transplant process. I went through Peritoneal Dialysis training through Fresenius, and after months of treatment, I received a transplant on February 10, 2020, from my little sister.

I understand the complicated emotions involved in the decisions required throughout this journey. I am committed to providing guidance, empathy, and a kind listening ear to those currently going through their kidney journey. My mission is to share insights, offer encouragement, and serve as a beacon of hope for individuals facing the uncertainties of pre- and post-transplant life, fostering a network where shared experiences empower others to embrace this life with courage and resilience.
