Meet Jeanmarie.
I wanted to join ReMend to help others learn how to navigate through this lifestyle.
“Hello, I’m Jeanmarie. I was diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis when I was 16 years old. Both my native kidneys failed by the time I was 24 years old. On January 3, 2006, I received a kidney transplant from my father, a living donor. I am so grateful for his selfless donation so I could live a relatively “normal” life. Over the last 17 years, I have been on a wonderful journey, but yet sometimes difficult with everything that comes with battling a chronic illness.
I am a transplant community manager for Transplantlyfe.com where I write blogs and content about transplants. I realized I have a wealth of knowledge from 17 years of having a transplant. I wanted to join ReMend to help others learn how to navigate through this lifestyle. I have maintained a plant-based diet for over 12 years. It has helped me keep my body as healthy and happy as it possibly can. I love the outdoors, hiking, being an auntie, traveling, and photography are my passions. Over the years of navigating through all the burdens of having health issues, I have found peace through meditation and keeping a positive attitude. I hope I can help others navigate through their journey.”
