I am excited to be part of this community of mentors!

Greetings, I’m Alex Berrios, based in Louisville, Kentucky. I’m a kidney transplant recipient currently pursuing a second transplant. My kidney journey began in my mid-20s with high blood pressure, when I learned I was born with one kidney and later diagnosed with IgA nephropathy.

For nearly 10 years, I’ve worked in the kidney space and have served as a National Kidney Foundation volunteer and a patient advocate with the University of Kentucky transplant program. I’ve also participated in patient roundtables, speaking on a wide range of kidney disease topics.

I’m a proud dad to Abigail (14) and Zander (10), and I love baseball, sports movies, and podcasts. I’m honored to join ReMend and look forward to sharing what I’ve learned with others on their kidney journey.
